The Ecosystem Studies of Sub-Arctic Seas (ESSAS) Program is a regional program of the Integration of Marine Biogeochemistry and Ecosystem Research (IMBER) project.  Its objectives are to understand how climate change will affect the marine ecosystems of the Sub-Arctic Seas and their sustainability.

Ocean carbon research, observations, and modelling are conducted at national, regional, and global levels to quantify the global ocean uptake of atmospheric CO2 and to understand controls of this process, the variability of uptake and vulnerability of carbon fluxes into the ocean.

The NCOF mission is to establish ocean forecasting as part of the national infrastructure, based on world-class research and development.
NCOF aims to achieve this through collaborations that align the operational forecasting capabilities of the Met Office with world-class research carried out by a number of the UK’s leading marine and oceanographic research centres.

he Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography at Old Dominion University was established to promote research on the physical oceanography of the coastal ocean and related oceanographic processes. The coastal ocean is the focus of increasing research for reasons relating to both short-term anthropogenic impacts and long-term global change.
